Theme of the Panel: the impact of pandemic on training and education in museum sector globally
Rational:
The global pandemic has had a major impact on the operation of museums. Some museums have opened their doors with strict security requirements, others are still closed, and visitors are not able to visit the museum in physical premises. Museums and museum staff had to provide audience new and alternative ways to explore museum exhibitions, and further on activities. The “digital leap” in museums was enormous and the pedagogical model applied can be described as learning by doing. Museum professionals had to learn quickly how to produce digital services: digital exhibitions and tours and other ways to access and use museum collections. We have seen how museums have found different solutions to develop digital accessibility in museum and cultural heritage field.
